Hello and welcome to Drawn to DIY!

Easy Wedding Gift DIY #3: Hexagon Tile Coasters with Initials

I've been down that road before—not knowing what gift to give a person or a couple. There are just SO many options and factors to consider! So a helpful tip is to make sure your gift is 1) something the person/s could use, 2) something the person/s could put on display, or 3) something the person/s could share. And it usually works!

So for this Easy Wedding Gift DIY series, I'm following just that.

  1. White Hexagon Tiles
  2. Black marker
  3. Felt circles
  4. Strong glue

  1. Clean the surfaces of the white hexagon tiles.
  2. Write the couple's last name initial directly on the tiles using a black marker. My friends, Matt and Roxy's last name starts with M so that's what I wrote. You can search and use different fonts or make them all uniformed.
  3. Once you're happy with the lettering, bake the tiles at 350 degrees celsius for 30 minutes in the oven. Remove and let the tiles cool down. If you want, you can spray some clear sealant instead of baking the tiles.
  4. Glue felt circles underneath the tiles in the six corners.

There you have it—something the newly weds could share!

Of course, you could make more or less pieces of hexagon tiles depending on how many you think the couple will use. You can also experiment with different colors and designs to write on the tile to express you creativity!
